Winner of my Blog Anniversary Candy!!

It was my daughter's birthday yesterday and as announced I wanted to pick the winner of my candy. It was done yesterday and I never found time to write down a Blog post.

I had total 30 qualifying entries. I wrote down the names in paper and asked my little princess to pick up one. She enjoyed shuffling it through out. She couldnt stop herself from picking one. As soon as she handed me over the 1st one she picked, She picked up one more and said "Ma, this too"(In tamil actually). So I decided I will give the second one the Basic grey coupon code.

A little candy of love!! On my first Blog Anniversary!

February has always been a special month for me -. 'LOVE'ly month, isnt it? It has become even more special after I started blogging. 

Just an year ago, I was not even aware of this lovely little world called ‘Blog’. Inspired by so many Bloggers around, I opened a blog and had my blog for a whole month unused before I picked up the courage to share my cards.  It was a kind of Scary to look at other experienced Bloggers around and with the kind of Creations they share, I was not sure whether I should even pen down anything or post my initial creations.

And then, I got addicted to  'Blogging'. I was so touched with the warmth I felt in here with the wonderful Blogging friends around. I have made so many New friends and Best friends who share the same interest. 

The appreciating comments my blogger friends leave whenever I post something has always encouraged and motivated me DO MORE. 

But The whole year through I had blogged less than a card a month with my little one around. Its only from this New year, I had decided to dedicate more of my time towards my passion. And till this time, I have perfectly followed it....  

At this moment, I sincerely thank all my blogger friends for making me feel comfortable with the Blog family, For giving me a 'At home feeling'.

With this feeling of gratitude, I would love to offer my blog friends a cute little candy(yes,really little... ha ha).. Have not decided what the candy is gonna be. Will post a pic of it asap.

A File folder style tag holder!

This is a tag holder I created to gift my hubby on Valentine's day. Just wanted to give him something other than a card. Was browsing through Google for ideas. Then decided on Tags. But wanted a holder for the tag. Suddenly I remembered the tutorial post by Priya on Crafters corner challenges. I just followed the tutorial and created my version. 

I didnt want to try out any twist from the tutorial becoz of limited time..He was out of town n had to finish it n keep it as a surprise before he returned home. So I had to complete it last week itself.

So, here is my version of it. 

The Outer look with tags inside 

Looks like this when opened 

Used a Velcro to keep the holder intact when closed

The Box with the Tags. This is will be the sixth valentine's day since In got to know him. So made Six tags.

Front view of the tags. Just added some Embellishment and left it blank for me write my thoughts before I hand it over to him. 

The other side of the tags. Distressed it and added some Quotes.

1. I love my family. Am a stay-at-home mom of a darling two year old little princess . I thought I would be a career woman. But ended up enjoying life's single moment as a Loving Mom.

2. Am passionate about all crafts.Given a chance,I would love to learn every craft in the world. Currently, I have taken my first steps towards my passion with Quilling and card making.

3.I never seriously thought about love until I fell in love. Happily completed 3 years and am sure would live it the 'Happily Ever After' style..

5.I have been always a very lucky person having almost all my wishes come true if I absolutely, without any doubts want it.

6.I have always wanted to pen down something, a lil short story, A poem, A life experience... something like that. But never got an idea about How to Start.

A Valentine's card with a Quilled Heart...

Here is my first trial with Beehive Quilling. (I really am not sure whether this is....?) But I loved the outcome.
I think am in the spirit of creating only Valentine cards.

A Valentine card I did on request...

A simple Valentine Card I did on request...

Used an embossed sheet as the Base card stock, corner cut Red scrapbook paper, Sprayed Pink water color on the Spellbinder Tag White diecut.

Embellished them with my favourite Quilled flowers in Red and white . Added a pearl to the Fringed flowers for an extra attraction .

Then had a thought, What a Valentine's day card without a heart. Punched red hearts with Jef small punch and added them to the corners.
